 Oxfam India, a non-governmental organization and WITCO, South India's largest luggage and travel accessories retail chain, bring 'WITCO Travel and Leisure quiz 2004' to Chennai; giving corporates, travel and adventure aficionados and quizzers alike a chance to test the frontiers of their knowledge and be rewarded with exciting prizes in this unique event.
It is being organized in Chennai on 29th February 2004 as a fundraiser for Oxfam India. Oxfam India works towards an equitable and just society free from hunger, exploitation and poverty. The emergency response programme for the Gujarat Earthquake, Food Security and Livelihood Program for those affected by the droughts in Orissa, Rajasthan & Karnataka are among some of the notable projects undertaken by them.
Criteria, registration and quiz format ...
This is an open event and everyone is encouraged to participate. Participants are required to apply as a team of two. Interested participants can register at the WITCO outlets or with the Oxfam India contacts mentioned below and by paying a registration fee of Rs. 500 that will go as a donation to Oxfam India. Registration at the venue is also possible. Two Gift coupons worth Rs. 100 each will be given to the teams on registration. The event will comprise a written preliminary round. The top six teams qualify for the finals. The final will be a stage event with 7 rounds that will include audio, video and special rounds.
Veteran Quiz Masters Ravi Subramanian and Diwakar Pingle will host the event. To encourage more participation, they have compiled questions that can be answered by anyone who reads general interest magazines, newspapers and watches TV
programmes.
Exciting Prizes in store
 Exciting prizes worth over a lakh of rupees are in store for the stage finalists that include Holiday packages from Sri Lankan Airlines and Mahindra Holidays, gift coupons from WITCO and a subscription to Outlook Traveller to name a few. There are also exciting giveaways like dinner coupons, gift coupons and many more prizes for the audience.

The quiz will be held on Sunday, 29th February, 2004 at 1600 hrs at the Museum Theatre in
Egmore, Chennai.
Participation (Teams of 2) is open to all corporates and individuals on payment of an entry fee of Rs. 500 (per team), the proceeds of which go to Oxfam India. Each participant is entitled for a free gift coupon worth Rs. 100 from WITCO.
