All tourist offices under one roof

Nepal Tourism package launched

Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, launched a tourism package of the Nepal Tourism Board in Chennai on January 28, 2004.

The package, jointly introduced by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNAC) and the Pasupathi Area Development Trust (PADT) offers air ticket at Rs. 9,999 from Bangalore to Kathmandu and back with Pasupathi darshan.

This package will be in force from 15th February to 31st March 2004, to coincide with 'Maha Shivaratri'.

Tek Bahadur Dangi, Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, said the tourist inflow from India during 2003 had gone up by 33 per cent with an overall growth rate of 23 per cent. Since Lord Pasupathi is revered as more than 12 jyothirlingas, the package would benefit all the tourists from the South.

With the commitment of the Nepal Government, the tourism inflow is expected to grow at 25 per cent during the current year 2004. Besides spiritual tourism, Nepal would also offer opportunity for adventure tourists, he said.
