Manish Malhotra at Duchess Club

The Duchess Club, a dedicated, woman-empowered team of 300 members, hosted a tete-a-tete with ace designer Manish Malhotra. The event started with a fashion show sporting the designs of Chaitanya Rao, Tina Vincent, Dipnaz and Richa at the plush interiors of Samavesh Hall, Hotel Savera. This was followed by an enchanting interactive session with Manish.

The fashion show featured eight models participating in six sequences. Each designer was allotted two sequences. Leading models from Chennai participated in the event. The prominent names included Shemshad, Nerita, Divya, Sitara, Bindiya and Simran. The hairstyles for the models were designed by Cut Above, the beauty parlour at Hotel Savera, which has taken hair fashion as an art form to new heights.

Tina Vincent’s clothing line included an embroidered trousseau in imported western fabrics, mainly Lycra and denim wear. The shades were predominantly pastels, pinks and black with a hue of bronze and silver.

Chaitanya Rao’s clothing line consisted of mainly Western and Indo-Western wear, the shades, bright with mirror work.

It is to be noted that Chaitanya has designed for actresses Simran, Amisha Patel and numerous advertisement films.

Richa’s first sequence consisted of cocktail sarees for party wear and the second sequence, Indo-Western wear, mainly short kurtis and chudidars. The fabric consisted of brocade and georgette with Zardosi, Kundan and sequence work.
