Makeup for the mature woman |
Style |
Today's mature woman is more active and youthful than in days past and is determined to "look" younger as well. With advanced technology, cosmetics and skin care products can help to achieve this goal. Read on and discover ways to make the skin look clearer, smoother and younger. Remember the first essential element in younger looking skin is proper skin care. Take the time to cleanse, tone, moisturize and protect.
Cover eyelid
dis-colouration and prevent creasing by applying eye-shadow base to the lids and brow bone.
Eye-shadow base also acts as a 'filler' for creepy eyes creating a smoother surface on which to apply
eye-shadow.
Minimize lines and furrows around the mouth by applying lip primer before your foundation overlapping the lip line. Apply foundation to just "meet" lip primer and follow with your favourite
lip-liner and lipstick.
 Hide
under-eye circles, lines and folds at the corners of the mouth and eyes...stipple a pot concealer into these areas and to the inside corners of the eye near the nose. Avoid stick concealers as they are often too dry. Wand concealers are not opaque enough.
Use very little powder on creepy skin. When applying a concealer to 'bags', avoid the extended areas, just lighten the dark recessed areas.
Young skin is dewy and moist. Avoid matte as they exaggerate lines and dry skin. Use a foundation that is a little lighter in shade rather than darker. Use reflecting foundation ... one that diffuses light outward giving a velvety smooth, youthful looking appearance.
Stipple a thicker stick-type foundation onto 'age spots' much like you would apply your concealer. Set by powdering 'lightly.' Carry one in your purse for a 'quick fix'...under eyes, forehead, chin, etc.
Use a luminizer on cheekbones, under or over lipstick, & above the brows for a fresh, dewy finish. The idea is to reflect light which results in a more youthful appearance.
