When your face becomes hot and sweaty, a layer of moisture forms under the foundation causing it to "slip". Water based foundations are best in hot weather as they absorb the moisture and stay put far longer.
If your foundation turns into an oily slick by lunch time, or is simply shining on the nose and forehead, you don't have to remove all your make-up and start again. Use a split tissue patted onto the affected areas to blot up the grease and then add powder and blush. It should keep you going for another couple of hours.
The heavier the foundation or powder, the more the wrinkle will show - so for the mature skin it is important to use less not more.
When applying foundation or face powder, the final strokes should always be in a downward motion in the direction of hair growth. If you leave your foundation applied with an upward movement, the fine facial hairs will at first not be noticeable, but after a short time they will start to return to the direction of growth and appear to be standing on end.
Choosing the colour of your foundation is a tricky job. The thing to do is - figure out your skin tone and take a tone lighter than your own. Foundation has a way of making you look darker. To check for foundation colour, test on your
jaw line or neck rather than your face.
Here is how to be the perfect artist to accentuate your own beauty. Foundation, as the name goes, is the base for all what you put on your face. The job of a foundation is to create a smooth, even and flawless palette upon which you can design and emphasize. But please remember - it is not meant to be a mask, so don't overdo it. Apply it in even strokes to avoid a
'cakey' appearance.
For all those who like to drown their heat-blues with strokes in the pool, here is a secret. Have you noticed how your hair gets so damaged during the summer? Well, swimming is one way that hair gets very prone to breakage. To avoid damage comb a little hair conditioner through your hair before swimming - it will help prevent sun damage. Now you can swim all you want and keep healthy hair at the same time!
