Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR)
is taking many initiatives towards improving the quality of science
and engineering education in the country, and also towards
attracting and retaining the bright young talents in active
scientific research.
In this context, a one-day meet (AIM-2007) is
being organised at Kalpakkam on Friday, October 12, 2007 for the
academia. The meet will focus on reinforcing the existing
collaborations, and on identifying new enabling partners in India’s
march towards its cherished vision of becoming a global leader in
sodium cooled fast breeder reactor and associated fuel cycle
technologies by 2020 AD.
The day’s programme would include a
brainstorming session with Dr Baldev Raj, distinguished scientist
and director, IGCAR, laboratory visits, one-on-one interaction with
their chosen scientists, panel discussion for formulating the
roadmap to take the initiatives further.
The opportunities are infinite for those committed active
researchers from the academic world who dare to be different, and
are keen to take on the challenges and also contribute significantly
to our national mission.
AIM-2007 provides an excellent platform to showcase the expertise of
academics and the infrastructural strengthens of their institutions.
They can also present their project proposals for joint venture in
science and engineering disciplines relevant to IGCAR’s mission and
vision.
