Tough nut to crack!

Controversy seems to be Roja's second name, with the actress providing fodder, wittingly or unwittingly, to the gossip press. Earlier, it was reported that the actress was suffering from a dreadful disease. Then, that she had split from her long time beau R.K.Selvamani. Both the allegations were proved wrong. Before she could get some breathing space, a financier filed a case against her for duping him of his money. Seems Roja had borrowed some money from the man, and when it came to repay, the actress allegedly passed on some cheques that bounched. A furious 'Seth' pulled her to court. Fortunately for the actress, she had the support of Selvamani all along. Finally, when she passed her personal opinion on why she hasn't done any films with Kamal Haasan, the latter's fans burnt her effigy and Kamal's sympathisers like K.S.Ravikumar, even publicly pulled her up for it. Anyone would have buckled down under all this onslaught. But not Roja, who gave back as good as she got! Suddenly, the actress one day issued a statement that took everyone by surprise. After mentioning the trials she had to face, the actress surprisingly listed Jayalalitha as her role model. 'She has suffered and gone through much more than me. I was planning to commit suicide at one point. But Selva (mani) reminded me of Selvi Jayalalitha's life and the traumas she had to undergo. I learnt a lesson from it, and I'm trying to emulate her." More surprising was Roja's expressing her wish that Jayalalitha should win the elections and become the next C.M.! Though Roja firmly denies any political ambitions, her unexpected remarks are looked on by many as just that. Or a way to get out of her financial problems?
