Hollywood beckoning?

Vidyasagar gets to score music for a Hollywood film. Courtesy Rajiv Anchal who directs it. Titled ‘Beyond The Soul’, except for Vidyasagar, and a couple of technicians, the rest are all from Hollywood. Rajiv Anchal who has directed a few Malayalam films like the Mohanlal-starrer ‘Guru’ which was an entry for the Oscars for the best foreign film category, chanced to meet Vidyasagar at the airport one day. He’d asked the music director if he would like to score for a Hollywood film. And the deal was made. The music director made a trip to Hungary, in this regard, to use some of the musical instruments there for his score.

Yet another remake

One of the films most talked about recently was ‘Ramana’ the Vijaykant-Simran-Ashima starrer produced by Oscar Films Ravichandran. The film was well-scripted, with a very powerful role for the hero. Not surprising, that offers to remake it came from various languages. The film is now being remade in Telugu with none other than Chiranjeevi playing the lead role. But the producer has not signed the rights off. He’ll be producing the Telugu film too.

Happy and contented!

Soundarya may not have acted in a Bhagyaraj film earlier, till ‘Sokkaththangam’ happened to her. But she’s acted in a Kannada film where the story was penned by Bhagyaraj. That was Soundarya’s debut film in Kannada, a remake of the Tamil film ‘Aararo Aariraro’. Bhagyaraj has scripted, directed and played the lead in the original version with Bhanupriya playing the female lead. Soundarya had played the role Bhanupriya had played in the original. “So ‘Sokkaththangam’ is my second film where I’m acting in a Bhagyaraj-scripted film,” says the actress.

Playing mother

While Radhika has made her presence felt on the small screen, younger sibling Nirosha, acted in just a couple of serials when her big-screen efforts failed to get any exciting offers. But her name has cropped up again and one heard she’s doing a feature film. She is playing the mother in Vikraman’s new film ‘Priyamana Thozhi’ which he’s directing for the AVMs. And guess who is playing her son? ‘Maddy Madhavan’! Wonder how the duo will look on the screen.

Always in demand

Meena has shifted to new bungalow in Saidapet, Chennai. The actress was earlier staying in Saligramam. Her shifting residence is said to be on the advice of an astrologer .It seems the astrologer had told the family that the actress’s fortunes would take an upswing, if she shifted residence. Whatever the reason, the actress as such never had much problem getting roles. Ajit had given her a chance to act with him in ‘Citizen’ and then again in ‘Villain’. There was the Parthiban-starrer ‘Ivan’. In all these films Meena had stood her own, though pitted against glamour-puss Kiran in one, and the talented and charming Soundarya in the other. Meena has her own takers!
