With 1999 not being a very successful year for Vijay, he is careful in selecting his films for 2000. Not willing to take risks, he is now acting in remakes - films that were proven successful in other languages. So the new millennium will see him in the Tamil version of ‘Friends’ (the Malayalam hit), "Thambudu’ (the super hit Telegu film which starred Kalyan, brother of Chiranjeevi), and ‘Pavithra Bandha’ the Kannada hit movie. Hope 2000 goes well for this hero.
