Director: Arunprasad
Ramana's music is basically a blend of his early rock and roll influences with reggae and Indian rhythms. 'Kaadhal Solvadhu' is a nice ballad by Srinivas and Sujatha and is accompanied by a nice flute interlude. 'Kalakalakutthu' is a dance song by Mano with heavy dandiya beats. There is also another version of the song on side B by Shankar Mahadevan.
Vijay himself takes to the mike and does a good job in 'Ennoda laila', which has harmonica interludes and a reggae beat. The song was originally composed as the title song in 'Aye Laila', and the album also had a Telugu version sung by Ramana. 'Travelling soldier' is an English song by Gogula in which he mixes fast-paced beats with Hindustani-style aalaps. `King of Chennai' by Devisri Prasad has catchy beats. Ramana sings rock while Devi responds in a typical gaana style in `Adi Jivunnu Jivunnu'. `Salaam Maharasha', by Devan and Priya, is a straight lift from the old Hindi classic `Chori chori o banke gori'. 'Stella Maris Laara' is a gaana song by Tipu, Vivek and Dhamu. An average effort by Raman Gogula. Venky |
