Shruti Bajpai is HBO's Country Manager
HBO has announced the promotion of Shruti Bajpai from the position of Director of Marketing to the newly created position of Country Manager (India), HBO South Asia.
Shruti, a marketing professional who joined HBO in Nov 2000, has been involved with HBO since its launch and is responsible for conceptualizing, devising and implementing marketing programmes for HBO along with the overall management of its India liaison office.
In her new position, she will continue to oversee all marketing and media relations activities as well as the management of HBO’s distribution and ad sales tie-up with Sony. Shruti will also focus on business development opportunities for HBO in the region.
Congratulating Shruti on her promotion, James P Marturano, Managing Director, HBO South Asia said, “Shruti has been instrumental in developing the HBO brand in the extremely competitive India market. We are confident that she will continue to drive and expand HBO's presence in India.”
Prior to joining HBO, Shruti has dealt with exciting brands and challenges in her career and was Brand Manager at Nestle India Ltd. She is an Economics and Statistics (Hons) graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and went on to accomplish an MBA degree from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.
HBO brings the best of Hollywood by premiering the top blockbuster movies on television first in South Asia through exclusive licensing deals with four major Hollywood studios – Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment (Columbia/ Tri-Star), Universal and Warner Bros.
Prime time viewing on HBO includes HBO Saturday Nights, which premieres a new box office hit each week throughout the year; HBO Superstar Sunday, which showcases outstanding performances by Hollywood’s hottest stars in their most memorable roles. In addition, HBO features at least 3- 4 new movie showcases every month to offer viewers an interesting mix of Hollywood movies based on exciting themes.
