Naga who has a number of popular serials to his credit.
Chidambara
Rahasiyam is based on the ancient art of ‘nadi’ and is a suspense thriller
set in contemporary Tamil Nadu having references to the glorious past of the
state.
It is a story of intrigue and
suspense, revolving around the most baffling mysteries of nadi
jothidam or the ancient form of foretelling one’s destiny with the help of
a fingerprint. There are two schools of thought on this subject with some
dismissing it as pure guesswork while others swear by it.
Someswaran is an upcoming
journalist who witnesses a gory accident
on the road. Totally disturbed at the atrocity of a tanker driver, he writes an
article speaking about imposing a ban on water
tankers in the city.
Kumaraguru,
his chief editor, looks at the impracticality of the demands made by Somu in his
article. In an attempt to divert and channelise Somu’s anger, Kumaraguru prods
him to write another article on ‘nadi jothidam’.
To add spice to Somu’s adventurous nature, Kumaraguru directs Somu to fetch
the thumbprint of a body lying in the morgue. Somu gets the thumbprint and tries
to track the specified palm leaf of the deceased. In his quest to unravel the
mystery and to escape from the danger that chases him, Somu discovers that he is
witness to a series of murders.
Into
this scenario comes young NRI Akash who happens to dabble in biometrics or the
science of fingerprint identification system. His firm belief in this science is
shaken when on a chance visit to his grandmother’s place in Chidambaram
his future and past is told to him by a practitioner of the ancient art of nadi
jothidam. Shaken by the chilling predictions, he begins to wonder if biometrics
is really scientific when compared to the accuracy of nadi jothidam.
The paths of these two young
men, Somu and Akash, often cross each other in their quest for the truth. One
thing leads to another and the story takes several shocking twists and turns
leading a breath-taking climax that will make for compelling viewing on its
journey through the maze of mysterious deaths to finally unravel the Chidambara
Rahasiyam.
