Vettrivel decides to do something about the matter. And one day when he encounters Radha's father in a bus, he goes straight up to him, abuses him about being insensitive to his daughter's feelings, the whole scene ending in the man being beaten up by Vettrivel. The father, furious at his public humiliation, is all the more determined to marry off his daughter, to anyone other than her lover. Viji who learns about the incident, rebukes Vettrivel for being hasty and short tempered. "But for your hasty action, we could have somehow convinced him. Now you've spoiled everything!" Vettrivel looks
sufficiently embarrassed by the rebuke. Lawrence played Vettrivel, Gayatri was Viji, Anitasri played Radha, with Vinu Chakravarty being the father.
