With Simran slowly drifting to more performance-oriented roles, her younger sibling Monal makes her entry into the Tamil film arena. And paired with her is Kunal, the hero of 'Kadhalar Dinam'. Despite some good songs by Rehman and some stunning visuals, the film lacked an engaging script, and Kunal's debut and his pairing with the beautiful Sonali Bendre, went almost unnoticed. Hope his re-entry as a hero would work out this time.
Produced by A. Rajpal for Amudha Movie Makers, the film is directed by Muralikrishna who has also penned the story, screenplay and the dialogues. The film has music by Bharani and cinematography by Srishanker. The supporting cast consists of Karan, Damu, Subhalakshmi, Fatima Babu, Ramji, Vyapuri, Balu Anand, Narmada and
Vishwa.
Some scenes were shot in the ambience of a five star hotel. Participating in the shooting was Kunal, Karan and
Monal. Manoj is the proprietor of a five star hotel. One day as he is sitting in his office busy
with some files, the peon informs him that a girl has come to see him. "She says her name is Neetha," adds the peon. On hearing her name, Manoj is thrilled and not bothering to hide his excitement, tells the peon to send her right in. Neetha rushes in with a big smile and asks Karan to extend his hand. And as Manoj does what she wanted, she ties an expensive watch round his wrist. As Manoj looks at her with surprise and joy, she informs him, "Today is your birthday and I wanted to be the first to wish you." Manoj is overwhelmed, since he himself had forgotten that it was his birthday, and she had cared to remember it. Just then Vinod enters, and watches the obvious intimacy between the two with shock, for Vinod has a soft corner for Neetha. Karan played Manoj, Kunal is Vinod, while Monal played Neetha. Muralikrishna guided the artistes while Srikrishna canned the shots.
The shooting for the film is going on at a fast pace. The songs were picturised at Pollachi. Two romantic songs were shot on the lead pair, where some dancers too participated. Monal has yet another film with Vijay titled 'Bhadri' on the floors. But 'Parvai Onre Pothume' may well be her first Tamil release.
