Lesa, Lesa

(Shaam - Trisha)

The fresh new teaming of Shaam and Trisha make up the lead cast of 'Lesa, Lesa'. For Trisha, a former Ms Chennai, and the winner of 'Ms. Beautiful Smile' at the Ms India Pageant, this is her first attempt at acting. Trisha has endorsed many products for commercials like the recent one with Madhavan in the 'Pepsi' - Kannathil Muthamittal' ad. For Shaam this is his second film after '12B'. The film is produced by Vikram Singh (12B) for Film Works. And directing it is ace Malayalam director Priyadarshan. A remake of a Malayalam film, Trisha's role had been played by Manju Warrier in the original version. Arjun is to make a special appearance in this film.

The supporting cast has Vivek, Radha Ravi, Cochin Hanifa, Satyapriya, Mayilsamy, Fatima Babu. Two popular Malayalam actors have been roped in - Popular actor Innocent, and writer-director-actor Sreenivasan. Sreenivasan has already acted in the Tamil film 'Pullakuttikkaran' directed by Partibhan. Five Mumbai models will also be playing crucial roles here.

It is a story with sentiment, suspense and humour. About a bubbly girl who comes to spend a vacation with her cousins, and there is a problem that is haunting her. Her interaction with two men, one her own cousin who is constantly pulling her leg and the other his friend who falls for her; and the cause of her depression forms the rest of the story. The film has music by Harris Jairaj and cinematography by Thiru. Art-work is by Sabu Cyril, stunt choreography by Thiagarajan, editing by N. Gopalakrishnan and dances by Kala and Prasanna. Locations have been chosen at Chennai, Coimbatore and Ooty. The songs are planned to be picturised in Holland and Morocco.

In Ooty a huge set costing about 40 lakhs was erected and some crucial scenes were shot there. The film is slated to be released on May 1st. Says Priyadarshan, "It is a love story, but my treatment will be different. I spot the strong points and the talents of my technicians and artistes, and then I try to bring them out. This film will definitely appeal to all the classes."
