ART YOU EAT AT 'PAINTED PLATTERS' ....... This is the slogan of Painted Platters…an unusual name for a very unusual place. This unique mecca for the sweet tooth derives its name from the fact that the plates are as delicious as the exotic concoctions they carry. Plates here are painted with chocolate, jam and syrup… to create works of art that are absolutely mouthwatering before various desserts are placed on them, hence the catch phrase 'Art You can Eat'.
Painted Platters, conceptualized in 2002 in Bangalore as a unique Dessert Parlour where the presentation of each dish is as exotic as it tastes. In essence, Painted Platters serves designer desserts and a range of natural ice creams. Its tradition of incorporating the highest quality ingredients has been the recipe for its success. But this place is no mere “dessert parlour”. Instead, it’s an entirely new dining as well as olfactory experience.
Chennai will shortly witness the launch of India's 2nd Painted Platters on Kasturi Rangan Road in Alwarpet, and the city's only desserts parlour. Painted Platters, Chennai will unveil a mouth-watering array of sinful Viennese desserts, which are its hallmarks, besides a range of mousse, sundaes, milkshakes and tortes to tempt your palate.
The dessert menu offers a range of Viennese desserts that taste as good as they look. Chocolate Concorde – delicious layers of meringue biscuits layered with chocolate mousse, a Dobos Slice – traditional Viennese biscuit sandwiched with a delicate lemony butter cream, Malakov Torte- a rum custard layered with sponge fingers, Alhambra, cashewnut cake with a sinful chocolate and rum creamare just some examples of what you can savour at Painted Platters. There is only so much one can say about Painted Platters, says its spokesperson. "However if you wish to feast … you’ll have to pay us a visit", she adds.
