Alleppey district of Kerala.
The unique

Announcing the
opening of the resort, Mohan said in Chennai, "Kerala was the
first choice because of its natural surroundings and the huge
lakes which would be any tourist's delight. It is now an
accepted norm that Kerala is God's Own Country because of its
greenery and is known the world over for its Ayurveda
treatment."
Mohan added
that along with IT, India has become a favourite tourism
destination for global travellers. Kerala, which is already
popular among the premium tourism destinations, has also now
given a new thrust to IT and ITeS services. This will ensure
that the Grand Nirvana Lake Resort will always have good
patronage not only from foreigners during the season but also
locals and Indian population throughout the year.
Based on the
success of this boutique resort, the company plans to put up
three more resorts by 2010.
Radhika Shastry,
managing director, RCI India, said, "Tourism is bound to grow,
particularly in the south, because of the tremendous IT industry
growth. Boutique resorts like Grand Nirvana serve a clear niche
and play a vital role in satisfying the needs of an enlightened
traveller."
She said, "The
Grand Nirvana is also affiliated with RCI (Resort Condominium
International), which is the world's largest holiday exchange
company. More than 4,000 resorts are affiliated worldwide with
RCI. Besides giving holiday exchanges, RCI provides several
other services to members."
