General Motors India has announced a promotional tie-up with the
Taj Group of Hotels to gift a 'Second Honeymoon' at select Taj properties in
Goa or Kerala to customers purchasing the
Chevrolet Optra, the celebrated luxury sedan, between August 25 and September 30.
Part of celebrations to mark the first anniversary of a blooming love affair between the 'Chevy' and India, 'Optra Second Honeymoon' offer entitles buyers to a three nights/four day stay for a couple at some of the choicest Taj hotels in exotic locales. The packages, which are very limited in number and available only on a first-come first-served basis, will be valid for the peak holiday period of October 2004 through March 2005.
“The concept of holidays for the customer buying an Optra ties in very well with Chevrolet’s promise of a special journey called life,” said Aditya Vij, President and Managing Director, General Motors India. “In the one year since the introduction of the Chevrolet brand in India, it is already proving to be a hot favourite among thousands of customers. The creation of special holidays for buyers of the Optra in this limited period, takes forward the brand idea of spending special moments with loved ones. The creation of exclusive luxury holiday packages for customers is in line with the upmarket image of the Optra,” he added.
Another landmark creation from the house of Italian designer specialist, Pininfarina, Optra has been time and again rated highly on styling, performance and luxury by Indian and international media. Optra in fact is the only car in the segment to be honoured with five prestigious awards including the ‘BBC Wheels Car Of The Year’ and ‘CNBC Viewers Choice’ as well as ‘Value for Money Car’ award by CNBC – Autocar in a short span of just one year.
Thanks to the tremendous response to its Chevrolet Optra and Opel Corsa models, General Motors India recorded about 80 per cent growth in 2004 selling over 13,000 cars between January and July including close to 6,000 Chevy Optras.
GM India is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation. Besides the Chevrolet Tavera and Optra, GM India manufactures the Opel Corsa, Corsa Sail and Swing at its facility in Halol, Gujarat. GM India also sells the imported Opel Vectra in addition to the Chevrolet Forester.
