 This Independence Day, you could get a taste of celebration on the ‘streets of Europe’ at Mainstreet, the 24 hours restaurant at the
Residency Towers.
On August 15th, to add to the mood of celebration and nostalgia, the dishes will be named after freedom fighters, famous places in the freedom struggle and key figures in the freedom movement. You will be welcomed by traditional sweets being distributed by a hostess dressed for the special day. The music and the ambience are picked especially to rekindle the spirit of freedom. The Mainstreet staff will be dressed in khadi for the Independence Day celebrations there.
Taste the Mountbatten’s Terrine to commence the Freedom Lunch. You can also choose from other interesting combinations like the Salad De Republic, National Salad or Salad 1947 among others. Moving on to the soups there are Tiripura Chicken Clear Soup or the Cream of Freedom Soup. The soups are aimed at building up an appetite to celebrate.
Chef Sundar has put together an assortment of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delights for everybody who is ready to relish the 57th Independence Day! The main course line up for the vegetarians include Hariyana Mutter Panner, Bangala Chichigo Posto, Raj Mahal Saag Phaldhari Kofta, Nai Choru, V O C Kerela Erruchery among the other lip-smacking dishes inspired from the history pages.
Firpo’s Goan Fish Curry, Azadi Murugh Kebab or the Circuit House Mutton Biryani among the other non-vegetarian dishes are sure to give sumptuous reasons to remember this Independence Day.
The Indian breads, rice platters and the desserts take off from where the freedom fighters left….relish the Lahori or the Kashmiri Naan or the Peshawari Romali Roti, choose from Lal Kila Jogi Pulao or Mumbai Bagala Bath. And what better way to complete the Freedom Lunch than choosing between Indian and Continental desserts. Relish Thiranga Burfi or Amritsari Chenna Kheer or dig into Irwin Pact Caramel Custard along with Stanford Chocolate Cream Éclair among other tasty delights prepared exclusively for the Independence Buffet.
