Commenting on the launch of the food festival, Manoharan, director, Tourism Malaysia, India, commented, "Indians have started developing a more adventurous approach towards cuisine. Food festivals provide the perfect platform to indulge and savour the delicacies from this multi-cultural tropical paradise. It is an opportunity for those who have visited or are planning to visit the country to relish this diversity of the Malaysian gourmet spread."

Malaysia's multi-cultural society has created a blend of cuisine that is uniquely Malay, Chinese and Indian. Besides delicacies derived from the three main races, Malaysian cuisine also comprises fusion classes of food from cross-cultural influences.

Commenting during the inauguration, Tajul Ariffin Kamat, area manager, South India, Malaysia Airlines, said, "For a traveller, airline is the first window to experience his expectations and cuisine forms an integral part to fulfil the dreams. The festival is an on-ground familiarity of one of the many in-flight amenities a traveller would luxuriate onboard while on a sojourn to the world through the gateway of Kuala Lumpur."

Regarded as the most favoured destination amongst the travel community for vacation, Malaysia is a delightful destination that sums up the Asian essence through its beauty, culture and cuisine, he said.

In keeping with the popularity of the country, V V Giri, general manager, The Park, Chennai, said, "We may perhaps be unable to take you on a tour to Malaysia. However, we are pleased to present an important aspect of this beautiful country: Its cuisine that rightfully spells the magic and breathtaking beauty of the country.
