Kerala Food Festival

Do you have a liking for Kerala dishes? Do you miss the authentic Keralite varieties in Chennai? If your answer is 'yes', then you should be visiting The Kerala Food Festival at 'The Paradise Restaurant' at Nelson Manickam Road. 'Bakshana Mela', as it is named, provides most of Kerala's mouth-watering delicacies. This festival is open to the public from 18th Feb. till the 11th of March between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. It costs Rs. 125 for an adult and Rs.75 for a child to enjoy this food fair. On entering the restaurant, one is greeted in a typical Keralite manner, women wearing the 'Mundu' in traditional style. Once inside you cannot miss the appetizing flavour of the dishes spread in an attractive way.

The interior decoration goes well with the occasion. The buffet is laid under the shelter of decorated palm and coconut leaves. Traditional Keralite ornamentation inside the restaurant is on display. The cuisine, of course, leaves nothing to complain about. The Chefs, specially brought from Kerala for this festival, prepare the dishes. Some of the ingredients that are not available out here in Chennai are being airlifted from Kerala to maintain the authenticity.

The menu consists of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian varieties that Kerala is well known for. 'Enachi olathiyathu', 'Chemmen peralan', 'Onakummen Chadachathu', 'Mathanga Erichery', 'Thengapaal', 'Appam', 'Kappa', 'Puttu', are just some of the items in the long list of the main course. The desserts include 'Sarakara varatti', 'Chakka Varatti', 'Adapradaman', and 'Paalpayasam'.

For more dishes and the real taste of the food you can check it out in person at the premises!

The festival is open till the 11th of March between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. at :
