Tomato rice

Hi guys, I think now you would have learnt how to cook!
This week let us learn to make tomato rice.
Ingredients
Rice - 200 grams
Tomato - 250 grams
Cooking oil - According to requirement
Ulutham paruppu -1 tbsp
Kadalai paruppu - 1 tbsp
Mustard - A little
Salt - To taste
Turmeric powder - Half tbsp |
Method:
First clean the rice and steam it in
a cooker. Place the cooked rice on a big plate and let it cool. Meanwhile, cut
the tomatoes into pieces. Likewise, cut curry leaves also into pieces. Place a big vessel
on the stove and pour cooking oil in it.
When it heats up, splutter the
mustard seeds, add the ulutham paruppu, kadalai paruppu into the vessel. Put the
tomatoes, curry leaves into the vessel when the ulutham paruppu and kadalai
paruppu change into golden brown colour. Next add the turmeric powder and chilli
powder and salt to the mix.
Fry it for some time. Once the
tomatoes get cooked well, mix the paste with the cooked rice. Sprinkle the curry leaves over the
rice for decoration and also that tongue-tingling smell.
Note:
If you want to add onion and sombu to the tomato rice, first fry them before starting all
cooking process.
