 Coffee Day
– one of the most
hung out places in Chennai. Located at a convenient location for the students of MOP Vaishnav and other nearby colleges,
it's one of the ideal places to check out people ;). The place has enough space to accommodate n number of people and is noisy. Not surprising isn’t
it, when a place is teeming with teeny boppers 99.9 per cent of the time. Or,
maybe, I should say 'young adults'.
My all-time favorite has been Tropical Iceberg priced at
Rs 30-plus whipped cream which is Rs 10 extra. I have also had their chocolate pastry which is priced at
Rs 25 which can be very nice sometimes. They also serve some good pizzas and sandwiches. My friend has an espresso double shot priced at
Rs 25. Pretty expensive, I say, for a small cup of decoction... Haa haa… As you would have
realised by now, I don’t have such a great sense of humour.
At this outlet you can watch MTv and listen to music. Now you may wonder why I would put in such a line here. That’s coz what you see and what you hear won’t be in sync. The juke box plays music, that you may choose if you pay
Rs 5 and you don’t get to hear what you favorite
VJ has to say.
The caffeine shots at
Coffee Day have been my personal favourite and they are easier on the pocket than other
coffee pubs. Somehow, they strike a chord with my taste buds, which have been checking out coffee from when I was 7. Thanks to my granny. And during my board exams there’s a caffeine overload with me living on 10-12 cups a day. Anyway, enough about me and my tryst with
coffee.
You will find Coffee Day outlets at various addresses other than Planet Yumm chain of restaurants and at Bharat Petroleum outlets, where they have stalls called
Coffee Day Express.
