 In its 4th year, the STAR Parivaar Awards 2006 continues to grow bigger and better in all its grandeur, glitter, glamour and razzmatazz...and comes around yet again to give the viewers every reason to cheer and celebrate with their favourite on-screen family - the 'STAR Parivaar'...something that they are sure to cherish for a long-time...
This unique television award show - the STAR Parivaar Awards - is the meeting ground of television's most popular stars, who have become synonymous with the industry itself. And like every year, this time too it will be a starry affair with the galaxy of television stars who have come together in all their camaraderie to cheer, share, celebrate and reward all the adulation received by them and their co-stars, in return for the hard work which they put in each day of the week, day after day, all through the year.
Unique it really is, as this is the only awards show in the world which lauds the character and not just the actor. No wonder some of categories are - Favourite Dada, Favourite Saas, Favourite Naya Sadasya and so on...

 An innovative property, commensurate with STAR PLUS, India's No. 1 Hindi general entertainment channel - STAR Parivaar Awards 2006, will once again bring to life the concept of rewarding the characters played by various actors on the television screen, as it brings together the perfect parivaar, chosen from among the many serials of STAR PLUS. This time the event will also bundle up an interesting mix of high-voltage performances by young and leading stars of the channel who will fill the show with their colour of excitement, drama, emotion and humour, as they will entertain and exhilarate the viewers.
A dash of style, glitz, fashion, jubilation all this...and assured are the scintillating performances of the leading ladies and charming lads of the tele-tube.
Building on to the event will be the prelude of 'Vatrakunda Mahakalya' from Rang De Basanti jived by the television charmers Vikas Sethi (Swayam in Kahiin To Hoga), Chaitanya Chaoudhury (Akshat in Kahiin To Hoga) and Manoj Bohra (Prem in Kasautti Zindagii Kay)...Followed by the retro & metro mix of Aao Twist Karen, Chunari - Chunari and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi by the all charged and refreshing team of Leela, Pravina, Meenaxi and Gattu from the popular comic saga - Baa, Bahu Aur Baby.
A pleasant bundle of surprise would unfold as everyone's favorite dadi - (Baa in Baa Bahu Aur Baby) will also come along and spirit-up to the song - Kaanton Se Kheench Ke Yeh Aanchal in her oldie but goldie style...It would be a totally different high as the viewers will watch the screen -scorchers Sangeeta Ghosh (Pammi of Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand) & Juhi Parmar (Kumkum) swirling to Bollywood tunes from the likes of Tumhari Adaon Pe Main Vari Vari and Kahin Aag

 The charming duo and new entrants to the STAR Parivaar - Barkha Bisht & Indraneil Sengupta, will light up their yet-to-be-seen on-screen love in Pyaar Ke Do Naam... with their performances on Radha Kaise Na Jale and Kisna...And the charismatic pair - Eijaz Khan & Surveen Chawla - will sashay together to have a rocking time as the young & happening duo will perform on the raving music of Bluffmaster...A complete show-stopper would be Hussain's (Sumeet in Kumkum) performance, as he will prance around to Himesh Reshamiya's numbers like Jhalak Dikhla Ja and Mohabbat Ki
Guzarish.
Chosen and voted for in different categories through e-mail, telephone & SMS, these stars got voted by STAR PLUS' viewers a whopping 1.8 crore votes this year, against last year's 58 lakh. Which went all the way to prove the popularity of the channel's shows and characters.
While the much-loved soaps and the K-series of the channel like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasauti Zindagi Kay, Kahin Toh Hoga, Kavyaanjali and Kumkum bagged numbers across categories, coming close this time is the new entrant and for the first-time ever on STAR Parivaar is the channel's 10 p.m. weekend soap -- Baa Bahu Aur Baby.
The show will be coloured by many-an-emotion, as a special award will be given to the acclaimed Gujarati theatre stalwart and Savita of Kyunki...'Apara Mehta'.
