 Aasai -- Vijay TV's new soap
 AASAI, a new serial is all set to hit television screens on June 6, 2005 on Vijay TV. Produced by AVM productions, this show airs at 1930 hrs (Mon-Thu). AVM productions, one of the leading production houses in the country, partners with VIJAY for the first time.
The serial is about the different facets of any relationship. An engaging story, about love, heart-break, emotions and sacrifice all intertwined into one whole, AASAI, a perfect combination of love & hatred; sacrifice & revenge is aimed at satisfying all audiences, said its spokesperson.
 Sreenivasan, the head of the family is a widower and father of two sons and a daughter. His eldest son Suresh is an MBA graduate who has started his own business unit along with his partner and childhood friend Pooja. Rahul and Raagini, Nandini’s children are the favourites of the Anandha Bhavanam household and their companion is Rocky the pet dog. Together, they play pranks on Vadivu and win the love of one and all.
Sreenivasan’s sister Vadivu is actually the head of the family. She rules not only the lives of the family members, but also their dreams; and that’s what makes her a ‘lady Hitler’ in the eyes of the characters. Vadivu, out of overwhelming love for them, starts dictating their lives and since the youngsters have their own aspirations, clashes arise but everything brings out the love each family member has for the other.
Pooja, Suresh’s childhood friend, has a special place for him in her heart. Pooja is so possessive of him that she would not let anyone steal him or his love away from her. Pooja’s mother Meenakshi is a widow and she purely lives for Pooja’s happiness. Pooja has the final say in everything with regard to her life.
Archana hailing from a middle-class family joins work at Suresh’s company. Suresh is impressed with Archana’s character and falls in love with her at the very first sight. For Archana, it is her family that is the first priority and therefore she hesitates initially and later agrees to his proposal. Will Archana’s love prevail over Pooja’s friendship? Will Vadivu’s wish of Pooja and Suresh getting married come true?
The serial has a popular cast like Prem, Vanaja, Rindhya and Vadivukarasi among others.
