'Poova Thalaiya' happens to be actor Udhaya's 13th film yet he is hardly a known face outside Chennai. Udhaya is the son of veteran film producer A.L. Azhagappan, who was earlier president of the Tamil Film Producers' Council (TFPC). During Azhagappan's tenure, many films were launched with Udhaya as the hero but none of them was taken to the next level of full-fledged shooting.

'Kadhal Jadhi', directed by Kasturiraja, is one of those films. Though the shooting is complete, the film has been lying in cold storage due to various reasons/factors. Despite all these things weighing him down heavily, Udhaya comes across as a cheerful guy with a casual attitude. Udhaya says, 'Vikram and Ajit are my friends; they have always bee assuring me that I have a very bright future in Tamil films. I believe them."



Udhaya says he considers 'Poova Thalaiya' as his first project and not like 'one among the many'. He says he appears in the same costume for the entire duration of the film (how could it possibly be?). Udhaya is also happy that the recent release 'Poi Solla Porom' is running to packed houses. Why? The film's director Vijay happens to be Udhaya's own (younger) brother!

Vijay's success has made the whole family happy, claims Udhaya.
