Jasmine, the Malayalee damsel, is going to act in a Telugu film
starring Sivaji, after a considerable gap. Her last film was 'Maharathi',
the Balakrishna-starrer, which was not up to the mark. She
earlier acted with Sivaji in the film 'Ammayi Bagundi'. At a
time when everybody was thinking that Meera Jasmine is accepting
even character artiste roles (like Rajasekhar’s sister in 'Gorintaku')
as she has no offers, she is making a comeback with this film.
The film is a remake of the Tamil hit 'En Purushan Kuzandai
Madiri', and going to be directed by Raja Vannemreddy. Gopi and
Soma Vijaya Prakash are the producers. Shooting for the film
will start in August.
Giribabu, the director and producer
Senior actor Giribabu is directing as well as
producing a film with Raja in the lead role. Raja’s 'Veduka' has
just been released and his other film, 'Toss' has been lined up
for release. Priyamani, who played the heroine alongside Raja in
'Toss' is said to have been considered for the heroine's role in
this Giribabu’s directorial venture. The shooting for the film
will commence in August.
Shankar Dada nearing completion
Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film, 'Shankar
Dada Jindabad', is being shot for a song at Padmalaya Studios in
Hyderabad. Model Karishma Kotak plays the female lead. The film
is a remake of Bollywood blockbuster, 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai'. If
Mumaith Khan sizzled with her item number in 'Shankar Dada MBBS',
Yana Gupta is all set to woo the audience with her item number
in this sequel to 'Shankar Dada MBBS'. Except for a couple of
songs, shooting for the film has been completed. The film's
audio is likely to be released soon and the film is scheduled to
be released in the third week of July. The film is being
directed by choreographer-turned-director Prabhu Deva and has
music scored by Devi Sri Prasad.
Charmme replaces Suhani
Though it was widely publicised that Suhani,
the 'Tuneega Girl' will be the next 'Bapu Bomma', she was
replaced in the last minute by Charmme, making it clear that
nothing is certain until a project materialises in the film
industry. Bapu’s last film was 'Radhagopalam' with Sneha playing
the lead role. But, however, Suhani is playing the heroine in
Nitin’s latest film, 'Takkari'. Director Bapu’s next film with
Charmme in the lead role will commence shooting in the second

Jagapathi Babu's 75th film
Jagapathi Babu’s latest film was launched
recently. With Anushka and Bhoomika Chawla, the film is going to
be a love triangle. And, interestingly, hero Jagapathi Babu is
involved in the production of the film. Dasarath of 'Santhosham'
fame is directing the venture. Jagapathi Babu, doing his 75th
film, says, "I am doing the role of a stressed out businessman.
The story is full of glitz and glamour. It is a trianglular love
story with a difference." While expressing his joy in getting an
opportunity to score music for Jagapathi Babu’s film, music
director R P Patnaik says, "The film has got a lot of scope for
music." Director Dasarath terms the film a mix of love and
family drama like 'Santhosham', and says, "The audience will
like the second half as it is full of emotional sequences."
