Tabu wants a change of roles

Tabu is one talented actress who has acted with actors of all age groups: from Abbas and Vineeth to Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and Balakrishna. This Hyderabadi, a good friend of Nag in Tollywood, now seems to have got bored of serious flicks like, 'Asthitva' and 'The Namesake'. It is learnt that the actress is waiting for fun-filled characters and would prefer directors to approach her with the a similar subject. Tabu loves watching comedy films too. Now the problem is can the audience imagine this glamorous heroine in a comedy caper that may come up in the near future? It remains to be seen how her fans receive her in her new avatar.

Dasari's heart still with films

As he is busy with active politics, one might think that he is gradually moving away from cinema. But director and Union Minister 'Darsaka Ratna' Dasari Narayana Rao wants to select a good script and direct one besides acting in it. "Whereever I am, my heart revolves around films. I have written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for permission. Once I get his nod, I will start the film," said the director on the occasion of his 61st birthday celebrations on May 5. Dasari Narayana Rao has directed over 140 films.

Venu Madhav plays hero

When one hears the title 'Bhukailas' with the tag, 'Ekaram 50 Kotlu', can expect that it to be a hilarious flick. Comedian Venu Madhav plays the solo hero in the film along side three heroines, Suhasini, Gowri Munjal and item girl Mumaith Khan. The film’s audio was released recently at a function by producer D Ramanaidu. Directed by Sivanageswara Rao of 'Money' fame, the film is about what happens when a naughty, jobless fellow receives crores of rupees due to the real estate boom. It has music scored jointly by M M Keervani and Rohit Raj. The director is banking on the film as his last film, 'Photo', failed at the BO. Gurunadha Reddy is the producer. The function was also attended by director S V Krishna Reddy, producers K Achi Reddy and Nagababu and hero Gopichand.

Shantan makes Telugu debut

Shantan, the son of actor-director Bhagyaraj, made his debut in Telugu as hero in an untitled film to be directed by Chandra Mahesh who earlier directed films like 'Hanumanthu' and 'Preyasi Rave'. The film's muhurat was held at a temple in Film Nagar in Hyderabad. The function was attended by actors like Srihari with whom the director has worked in several films earlier. Director V V Vinayak switched on the camera while Bhagyaraj directed the first shot for the film. The heroine is yet be selected.

Rajendra Prasad plays preachy role

Rajendra Prasad is now appearing in another serious role after 'Aa Naluguru'. He is playing a professor who tells society about the value of life. Debutant V Eshwar Reddy is directing the film, while C C Reddy is producing the film underVisu Films banner. "Each and every individual in this world has some problem. If everyone starts reacting to even a small problem there will be no one left on this earth. For every problem there is a solution and we wanted to convey this to the world through the film," says producer Reddy. However, the director says that the film banks on its strong script which will bring them recognition. Naresh, Brahmanandam, Ali, Raghubabu, Krishna Bhagawan, Chalapathi Rao, Nasar, Ravikondala Rao, Meena, Medha and Radha Kumar are the other actors in the film for which Koti has scored the music.
