After 'Maharathi', which failed to meet the expectations, Balakrishna is currently busy with his next venture 'Okka Magadu', being directed by Y V S Chowdary. The director himself is producing the venture under Bommarillu banner. Presently, the film is undergoing shooting in the surroundings of Bhuvanagiri in Nalgonda district. The actor enacted a scene of saving a couple from danger. Balakrishna is donning a new get up for his role in the film. Expectations are high from the film as Y V S Chowdary is big fan of NTR and is determined to give Balayya a much needed hit. Rasool Ellore's third venture
Rasool Ellore, the cinematographer who turned into director with his clean entertainer 'Okariki Okaru', is gearing up to direct his third venture. Though his first film did well at the box office, the second film, 'Bhageeratha', failed to do the trick. Rohit Khurana is going to make his debut alongside Sada in the third film. The shooting for the film is going to commence soon in the US. Sada, who has not had a hit in recent times, is pinning her hopes on the film. M M Keeravani is going to score the music for the film which has Sandeep Reddy as cinematographer.
The suspense of Laila Majnu
The very mention of the title 'Laila Majnu', will hint that it is a love story. And in the film too the lead pair loves each other and disclose it to their parents. Their parents too agree to have them married. When everything is going on fine, something happens to spoil the whole show. What happens is the suspense, says director Anji Srinu, talking about his film 'Laila Majnu'. The film has newcomers Harivarun and Jyothi Krishna in the lead roles. Bollineni Suresh Naidu is the producer. It has music scored by M M Srilekha. "It is closer to the present-day youth's mentality and the unexpected turns are the USP of the film," discloses the director. The film’s audio was released recently. It is scheduled for an April release.
A new story from director Venu
It is titled 'Kotha Katha' (meaning, new story). And true to the title it is going to be treated in a novel way, says director Venu. The film has Rambha in a prominent role. The film is all about how three youngsters Mithra, Vikram and Vijaya Sai, achieve what they have aspired for with the help of a guide. Sameekha plays the female lead. Tanikella Bharani is also appearing in a key role. "Though the film has all the ingredients love, suspense, thrill, romance, nothing dominates in this flick: instead, all are given equal importance," informs the director. Ghantadi Krishna has scored the music for the movie. Varikuppala Yadagiri has penned lyrics. V Janaki is the producer. This bilingual film is slated for release at the end of this month.
Another hilarious film from Naresh
If any one is in need of money in Athili, Satti Babu is the one name which strikes immediately for the people of the village. Neither is he a bank manager nor a well educated person as he has studied only up to LKG. But his hands are full of money always. "Lending to World Bank is his aim and he moves in that direction," discloses director E V V Satyanarayana, who is also producing the film 'Athili Satti Babu'. For hero Naresh it is another hilarious venture after the grand success of his earlier one, 'Kithakithalu'. Kousa and Videesha play the female leads. The film's songs are currently being shot in Thailand.
A movie on Buddha
In order to take the principles of peace, universal love, equality and selflessness preached by Buddha 2,500 years ago, which are still relevant, Allani Sridhar is directing a film titled 'Buddha'. K Rajasekhar is producing the film under Dharma Patha Creations banner. Rajasekhar’s father, who did research on Buddha for three decades, has penned script for the film. The film is currently undergoing shooting at Ramoji Film City. Sunil Sharma, who played Lord Krishna in the ETV serial 'Bhagavatham', plays Buddha while Kousa plays his wife Yashodhara. Parvati Melton is appearing in another important role, Amrapali. "I am directing the film with the guidance and instructions of Sivananda Murthy," says the director. "We are making the film in Hindi and English to enable crores of people to watch it," says writer Murthy. Sasi Preetham scores the music for the film.
