At last Maheshbabu's much talked about film 'Athidhi' has been launched. To be directed by Surender Reddy, Amrita Rao is all set to don the lead role in the film. Krishna’s son G Ramesh Babu is producing the film under Krishna Productions banner. Film development corporation director Adiseshagiri Rao sounded the clap while Krishna switched on the camera for the film. K Raghavendra Rao directed the first shot. The film will commence a regular schedule of shooting from February 5. Prakash Raj, Kota Srinivas Rao, Nasser, Asish Vidyarthi, Sunil, Brahmanandam are the other actors in the film. Mani Sharma scores the music. Abburi Ravi has penned the dialogues.
Jaya B's next film
So far she has directed three films, 'Chantigadu', 'Premalo Pavani Kalyan' and 'Premikulu' for her home banner. Now she is all set to direct her fourth venture, titled 'Gundammagari Manavadu', for RR Movie Makers banner. She is Jaya B, who has carved a niche for herself and commands respect after Vijaya Nirmala among women directors in Tollywood. Ali, who decided not to play lead roles nearly 10 years ago, is playing the lead role in this film. The movie was launched recently in Hyderabad. Megastar Chiranjeevi sounded the clap board for the film and D Ramanaidu switched on the camera. Sindhuri and Nicole play the female lead. Of late, we have seen sister sentiments in films 'Rakhi' and 'Annavaram' but in this film we are going to see 'Bamma sentiment' according to Tanikella Bharani. Veligonda Srinivas has penned the story. Achi Reddy, who is presenting the film, says the film reminds him of the blockbuster 'Yamaleela' in which Ali played the lead role. A song for the diamond jubilee
A song showing the 75 glorious years of Tollywood was picturised on all top actors of Tollywood recently for screening during the three-day (Jan 26-28) spectacular diamond jubilee celebrations in Hyderabad. Actors Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Pawan Kalyan, Venkatesh and several heroines like Anushka, Charmme and Sada feature in the song. According to producer and chief convener of the celebrations K S Rama Rao, the song, written by Suddala Ashok Teja and composed by Devi Sri Prasad, can be played at every movie launch, audio launch and hundredth-day functions. It will also be played during the 100 years celebrations of Tollywood. As the oraganisers have made it clear to every participant to pay an entry fee, all actors, techinicians, directors, producers, distributors and exhibitors have paid their contributions and purchased tickets for the mega event.
Dasari's hilarious writing
Even after directing over 140 films, director and Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao doesn’t seem to have tired. He has penned the story for a film titled 'Adivaram Aadavallaku Selavu' (Sunday is holiday for women). The film is being directed by Raja Vannem Reddy. It is a hilarious venture. For long women have been confined to the home. Now they are doing a job and simultaneously doing household work. In the film, the women in an apartment seek leave from daily household work at least on Sundays. With this development, how in the apartment there forms a division between men and women on Sundays. It would be an exhilarating experience for the audience, says the director. Sivaji and Suhasini are appearing in the lead roles and Prakash Raj in a key role. Comedians like Brahmanandam, Venumadhav, Kondavalasa, Krishna Bhagawan, Raghu Babu, Dharmvarapu Subrahmanyam and Kovai Sarala are also part of the film. The film has music by Vandemataram Srinivas. Shooting for the film has been wound up. It is expected to be released in the second week of February.
Police Story-2 is ready
Whenever Telugu audience hear the film 'Police Story' they are reminded of punch dialogues and powerful emotions of actor Saikumar, 10 years ago. The film gave the actor the much needed break and he went on to act in many Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films. Now a sequel 'Police Story-2' is under way. According to hero Saikumar, like the first one, the film will not have a heroine and songs and director Thriller Manju is moulding the film arousing much curiosity. The first film ended with the hanging of Black Tiger and this sequel begins with the same. The film is being made in two languages, Telugu and Kannada. Achi Reddy will be presenting the film. Venkat is producing the film under RR Movie Makers banner. The film is expected to be released in the second week of February. Interestingly, besides action scenes, the film has graphics which are being provided by Aishwarya, daughter of Tamil superstar Rajinikant. 'Police Story' has turned my acting career. And I hope the sequel would give me 10 more years of film career, hopes Saikumar.
