Chiru in Shankar Dada MBBS sequel

Tollywood

After 'Shankar Dada MBBS' Chiranjeevi is gearing up to act in its sequel 'Shankar Dada Jindabad' a remake of Bollywood blockbuster 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'. Vidya Balan is to appear alongside the megastar. Prabhu Deva is set to wield the megaphone. Devi Sri Prasad, who scored music for 'Shankar Dada MBBS' and actor Srikanth who appeared in the ATM role, will don the same roles for this sequel as well. As Chiranjeevi has been appearing with a long beard during the press meets of the diamond jubilee celebrations, marking 75 years of Telugu cinema, rumours say that he will appear in the upcoming film sporting the beard.

Don ready for launch

Nagarjuna's venture 'Don' is going to be launched on January 18. Lawrence, choreographer-turned-director, is once again set to direct this ultra-modern-boy (as referred to by Chiranjeevi) for 'Don'. The grapevine has it that Mamta Mohandas, the Malayali belle, will appear as Nag's lady love. Though a newcomer, Mamta has managed to hog the limelight, be it with rendering the song, 'Rakhi Rakhi Naa Kavvasaki' in NTR Jr's just-released film 'Rakhi' or bagging a role in the actor’s upcoming film 'Yamadonga'. Though Ileana and Trisha have been considered for the film earlier, Mamta surprised film folk by clinching the role.

Priyamani makes a mark

Priyamani has managed to score good marks for her role as a cute wife, Lakshmi, in the recently released film 'Pellaina Kothalo'. Born at Palakkad, in Kerala, and brought up in Bangalore, this Malayali girl surprised one by saying that she is fluent in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and English. "My Malayalam film 'Sathyam' opposite Prithviraj has been received well but other films didn’t do as expected. I have been striving hard to make a mark in terms of performance rather than appearance," she says. With just one film to her credit in Tollywood, Priyamani, the discovery of debutant director Madan, has a long way to go in Telugu.

Siddharth says 2006 was satisfying

"'Though 'Chukkallo Chandrudu' was a bitter experience for me, both as an actor as well as story writer, 2006 has given me satisfaction to a greater extent. I had a chance to share frames with actors like Aamir Khan in 'Rang De Basanti' which was nominated for the Oscars. And 'Bommarillu' is another flick which touches the emotional quotient of movie-goers and is still running successfully. What more I can ask for," says actor Siddharth who is busy with the shooting schedules of 'Aata'. "An actor seldom gets a chance to act in such roles," opines the actor.

Trishna too happy with 2006

Actress Trisha too fondly cherishes 2006. "This year has been memorable in my film career. For the first time, I have bagged the Nandi award for the film, 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana' and also got a chance to act with the megastar in the film 'Stalin'," exults the actress. Currently acting in the film 'Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule' opposite Venkatesh, the actress says that her house turns into a flower garden with flower bouquets from fans and well-wishers. However, this charming girl says that it is her mother whom she wishes first on every New Year day.
