Goodbye, Munnabhai
On the one side Chiranjeevi's latest blockbuster 'Stalin', named after famous Russian dictator, is released, on the other, people are talking about Chiranjeevi doing a remake of the Hindi flick `Lage Raho Munnabhai'. In an interview, the megastar says that plans to remake the film have been put to an end as the price quoted for the rights is very high. "It is not possible to remake the film with such a huge budget," he says. Regarding the possibility of seeing Chiru and his brother Pawan Kalyan together in a film, he says that if they act together, the budget comes out to be around Rs 35 crore, which is not feasible. He says it is good that they are doing films separately, indirectly hinting at he is not inclined to
multi-starrers.
Warm welcome for Vandana
Vandana Gupta, the bubbly actress with charming eyes, has been the talk of the town with her very first film `Hyderabad Nawabs'. The film might not have been successful just because of her presence, neverthless she has a few films in her kitty. This 21-year-old actress from Agra, the city of love, is currently acting in 'Ajantha', the film which is going to be released simultaneously in all the south Indian languages, and Arjun's Tamil film 'Thavam' alongside Arun. Her Ms Agra title introduced her to the glamour world i.e., into modelling, from where she catwalked into films with `Hyderabad Nawabs'. Though the actress is currently concentrating on south, she says discussions are on for a Bollywood film for a big banner. "If the project is confirmed, I will let you know," says the enthusiastic actress.
Navneet Kaur learns her lesson
Navneet Kaur, the Punjabi girl who made her debut with a deglamourised role in `Seenu Vasanthi and Lakshmi', has not had a single hit so far. Though she did few item numbers in films like 'Style' and 'Ranam', the actress says that she did item numbers to stay in the limelight. "Now I am not going to entertain item numbers any longer," insists the actress. Navneet is currently acting in the romantic film 'Bhuma'. She is also donning the role of Balakrishna's assistant in his latest untitled flick. "Now I am matured and know what is to be done and what is not to be done to become successful," says the confident Navneet
Kaur.
Uncle Nag is next
To please Nagarjuna is a difficult task, as the directors who have worked with him will vouch for. But this did not deter Shekar Kammula from working on a script with Nagarjuna in mind. What's more, Nag is believed to have been quite impressed with it and given the green light to it. So Shekhar is busy at work as he believes in having the entire script in hand, including the minutest details, before going ahead with the project. So, after handling nephew Sumanth in 'Godavari', it's going to be Nag uncle for this next untitled film.
Allu Arjun's new body language
Puri Jagannath’s characterisation of his heroes always becomes the talk of tinsel town. Be it 'Idiot', 'Itlu Sravani Subrahmanyam', 'Amma Nanna Tamil Ammayi', 'Sivamani' or the recent 'Pokiri'. Each character was etched differently and that happens to be the icing on the cake of his films. Even his heroes love him for that, because they look so much different. So his next film 'Desamuduru' has Allu Arjun, the lover boy of 'Arya', in the lead. The buzz is that he is portraying a crime reporter working for a popular Telugu channel. Arjun’s body language is being totally changed, the way he speaks and the way he walks. Even his wardrobe is going to have lot of inputs from Puri, so Arjun will finally face the litmus test.
