Reema Sen teams up with debutant Vishal (son of producer G K Reddy and brother of hero Ajay) and
'Boys' Bharat for a new film, titled 'Chellamay'. Produced by V Gyanavel and V Jaiprakash for G J Combines, the film is directed by Gandhi Krishna, who had apprenticed under
director Shanker and had directed the children's film, 'Nilakkalam'. While his earlier film dealt with parents neglecting their children, this centers on youth, says the director.
A couple, both hailing from joint families, fall in love, get married and their job takes them to Goa. The film depicts the happenings within a period of a month, when the couple discover each other, have their fights, squabbles and misunderstandings. Playing the couple is Vishal and
Reema
Sen.
"Every couple who have loved and got married, should see this film," says the director. He added that since there were some intimate scenes in the film, they were careful not to cross the limits of decency.
Though most of the happenings take place in Goa, shooting has also been held at places in Chennai, the Maldives, Mumbai and Bangkok. The talking portion of the film was completed in 50 days, and three songs too have been
picturised.
The film has music by Harris Jairaj and cinematography by K V Anand. While editing is by V T Vijayan, sets have been designed by R K Raghu and stunt choreography is by
Vikram Dharma.
Mumtaz and Bhanupriya make guest appearances in the film. While Mumtaz plays herself, Bhanupriya has been used in a dance number. Bharat of 'Boys' plays a crucial character in the film. Vivek plays an income-tax officer and a hilarius scene between him and Mumtaz has been shot. The film's music audio has been released, and the film is to be released shortly.
