It’s a fresh coming together of director Hari and Vishal in ‘Thaamirabharani’. Hari who had brought in Nayanthara from Malayalam to Tamil films in ‘Ayya’, introduces yet another heroine from Kerala. She is Bhanu, who had played one of the leads in the off-beat Malayalam film ‘Achan Urangatha
Veedu’.
‘Thaamirabharani’ is produced by Vijaya Productions which has earlier produced such films as ‘Enga Veettu Pillai’ and ‘Uzhaippali’. Produced on a large canvas, the film is shot in the backdrop of Thoothukudi, and centeres on the infighting within a family. A fight scene was shot at Chengalpattu, and a chase scene in a car, in the suburbs of Chennai. Choreographing it was stunt master Rocky Rajesh.
The film has music by Yuvanshankar Raja. One of the songs was picturised at 32 locations, at places like Nagercoil, Thiruchendur and Kuttralam. It was a song picturised on the hero as he searches for the girl he loves at various places. A fight scene was weaved into the picturisation, lending a touch of novelty. Choreographing the dance movements was
Dinesh.
The cast has Prabhu and Nathiya playing crucial roles, and Rohini playing the mother of Vishal. There is Vijaykumar, Nasser, Nizhlagal Ravi, Manorama, Ganja Karuppu, Arthi, Crane Manohar, Muktha George and Meera Krishnan in the cast.
Completed in a 73–day schedule, the film’s technical credits include cinematography by Priyan, sets by K Kathir and editing by V T Vijayan. Scripted and directed by Hari (‘Samy’, ‘Kovil’, ‘Ayya’, ‘Aaru’) the film is scheduled for a Pongal release.
