After teaming up for ‘Pallavan’, the producer-director team of Rupas Parker and Padma Magan join together for a new film titled ‘Ammuvagiya Naan’.
It has Partibhan playing the lead with Bharati, who, after acting in films like
‘Vayasu Pasanga and ‘Yuga’, gets to play heroine with a top hero.
Partibhan plays a writer and Bharati, a sex worker. While different facets of love have been depicted in films, this one would be different, says the director. Here love begins as a physical attraction and lust, and graduates slowly into an understanding of minds, says Padma Magan. Depicting the happenings in the life of his two protagonists, the director contrasts the demands of social mores and the harsh realities of life which make people behave differently.
The film has been shot in places like Puducherry, Chennai, Senjikottai, among other places, and is scheduled for a February release. The film has music by Sabesh-Murali, cinematography by M S Prabhu, editing by Suresh Urs, and is scripted and directed by Padma
Magan.
Partibhan excels in roles which are closer to reality, like in
‘Azhagi' and ‘Bharati Kannamma’. “This film, too, would be a memorable one for me,” says the actor.
