Neeye Nijam

It was earlier titled 'Enn Kannil Yen Vizhunthai' but now the title has been changed to 'Neeye Nijam'. Produced by a new company, Sujata Films, the film has two new heroes, Sumesh and Shan. The female lead is Tejashri, known more for her item numbers in films.
Produced by P G Sadasivam-V Udaykumar, the film is directed by Indiran, who has also penned the story and screenplay. Indiran had earlier directed the films 'Solakuyil', 'Malaicharal' and 'Kadhale Nimmathi'. He says that he'd narrated the story till the interval to a group, including some distributors, and his own assistants and asked them to guess the ending. "But none of them could come up with the right climax," says
Indiran.
Shooting for the film took place at locations in Ooty, Kothagiri, the Travancore Palace, for a schedule for 30 days. The next 20 days, the unit spent in locations in Sri Lanka. One of the scenes shot abound the Nilagiri hills was of the character Chandru in the film, being dejected at his love not being reciprocated by Priya, and attempting suicide. Since this was one of the crucial scenes in the film, the director had his art director Mathimohan create the ambience of a forest on a set costing Rs 8
lakh.
Nirmal Raja wields the camera. The supporting cast has Hema Bhasker, Rupanraj, Delhi Ganesh, Sentamarai, Kausalya, Manjari, Kovai Sarala, and Master Akash Suresh.
Manjari plays Tejashri's friend who takes a promise from Tejashri that she would marry her brother. Manjari dies before her wish could be fulfilled. But Tejashri, obligated to Manjari, is caught between her promise and her love for another man. "I've tried a new approach to this love story, hitherto untackled in Tamil cinema," says
