Simbu, who had been purposely avoiding media-persons for quite some time now, met them last evening mainly to clear the air about the controversies surrounding him and his brother Kuralarasan over the 'lost' car. An upset Simbu said that he left for Sri Lanka to shoot for 'Silambattam' on 3rd September itself. In this backdrop, how can anyone say that he was 'found' in a 'drunken' state at a star hotel creating a furore.
He said that thought he had been used to taking these 'unnecessary nonsense' bits in his stride, his brother Kuralarasan couldn't tolerate it and is crying. Why should journalists stoop to such a level, he asked. Doting father Vijaya T. Rajendhar, who was nearby, thundered and said that being a journalist himself, he just couldn't decipher how these 'silly' things could be taken as 'investigative journalism'.
As a parting shot, T. Rajendhar said that he was going to file defamation suits against all those journals that published 'wrong' and 'unacceptable' news about his sons. He also requested them 'not to mistake' him for doing so (?!).
The latest update on the 'missing car' episode is that the driver, who had reportedly stolen the car, was arrested from somewhere in Chennai itself.
