Chief Minister and patron of the Tamil film industry Kalaignar's association with Tamil films dates back to more than six decades. Not only him, have his heirs too taken a liking for the Tamil film industry. M.K. Muthu, his eldest son, made his debut as a hero in the early seventies but didn't act in many films. Recently, M.K. Azhagiri's son Arivunidhi rendered songs for a couple of Tamil films.
Kalaignar's grandson and Stalin's son Udhayanidhi recently produced the Vijay-Trisha starrer 'Kuruvi'. Meanwhile, some producers are reportedly approaching M.K. Muthu to make a 'comeback' (?!) in films. One more rumour is that Maniratnam has reportedly spoken to M.K. Azhagiri to star in his next film. No prizes for guessing that the role would be that of a politician. The role won't be the usual 'rowdy' politician's role but that of a do-gooder.
Azhagiri, it is said, has sought some more time from Maniratnam to decide. With filmstars doing well in politics too, it won't be a surprise if Azhagiri decides to join the bandwagon!
