One of director-turned-actor Ameer's favorite pastimes is meeting superstar Rajnikanth from time to time and discuss about cinema and politics with him. Whenever an issue about the superstar comes up, Ameer used to ask "why to 'disturb' such a noble-minded person?". But Ameer's reaction was far from friendly to Rajnikanth's reported apology to Kannadigas on the eve of the release of his 'Kuselan'.

Immediately after Rajni's statement seeking apology, Ameer reportedly called up Rajni and expressed his opinion that the former shouldn't have sought apology from them. Rajni is reported to have told Ameer that had the latter been in his position, he too would have done the same thing.
