 Noted cinematographer and director Balu
Mahendra left his imprints (impressions of his hands and feet)
at the Hall of Fame in Cinema Paradiso, Alwarpet, during his
visit to the shop recently.
Balu also inaugurated an exclusive section on
the Best Cinematographer series at the shop which specialises in
movie DVD rentals. This section will comprise a rare selection
of movies that gained immense popularity because of the
excellent cinematography, said Santhosh, partner of the shop.
The section will have DVDs featuring
exclusive behind-the-scenes footage which will show in detail
the effort involved in filming the movie, said Balu.
The DVDs will feature full-length interview
by cinematographers and the techniques used for filming,
Santhosh said. One can also find rare works of wildlife
photographers, National Geographic photographers and
award-winning cinematographers. This section has works of
legends like Vilmos Zsigmond, Robert Richardson, Sven Nykvist,
Vittorio Storaro, Laszlo Kovacs, John Poll, Harris Savides and
Darius Khondji.
