Arya replaces Ajit in Naan Kadavul
Actor Arya, a rising star in Kollywood, has replaced Ajit as the hero of director Bala's new film, 'Naan
Kadavul'.
Bala, who created waves with 'Sethu' and 'Pithamagan', turning even off-beat films into commercial successes, had earlier wanted Ajit to do the film. However, it is now confirmed that Ajit is out of the movie and Arya has been signed up.
The director refused to comment about Ajit's qwithdrawal from the film. Bala says he and Ajit had a private conversation at the end of which Ajit opted out of the film. Bala would not divulge if he had asked Ajit to withdraw from the film or whether it was Ajit's decision. Whichever way it was, Ajit is out of the film.
Arya said he was happy to be associated with Bala's film which was the dream of every hero in the film industry.
Bhavna is the heroine.
The film has dialogue by Jayamohan, art direction by P Krishnamurthy and music by Ilayaraja. "Who else?" retorted Bala when asked who would be the director of the film.
Shooting for the film would commence after August 15, said Bala, so that Arya completes another film. Villain from the Kannada film world, Devaraj, will don the role of the bad guy here too. Devaraj said he was thrilled over the prospect of acting in a Bala film.
The film is being produced by
Thenappan.
On the release date, Bala said, "Around Pongal". Does it mean the film is meant to pose a challenge to Rajnikant's film 'Sivaji', Bala laughed, and said, "No way. We are not here to compete against anyone."
Bala said the film was not a projection of any religion or about atheism.
