Navarathri homams at Skandasramam
Chennai Om Sri Skandasramam will be celebrating its 8th year Sarada Navarathri this year with a special Dasa Maha Vidya Maha Mandra Samputita Mangala Chandi Maha Yagnam from September 23 to October 2, 2006.

On Sept 23, Sri Maha Kali Chandi Homam will be performed and Bhuvaneswari will be assume the form of Kunkuma Kali.

On Sept 24, Sri Neela Saraswati Homam will be performed and she will be adorned with vegetables as
Sakambari.

On Sept 25, Sri Tripura Sundari Homam will be performed and she will be decorated as
Annapurani.

On Sept 26, Sri Kamalathmika Homam will be performed and she will be adorned as
Mahalaksmi.

On Sept 27, Sri Tripura Bhairavi Homam will be performed and Bhuvaneswari will be adorned with silver
kavacham.

On Sept 28, Sri Chinna Masta Homam will be performed and Goddess Bhuvaneshwari will assume the form of
Kamakshi.

On Sept 29, Dhumaati Homam will be peformed and she will be in
'sarkarai kaappu'.

On Sept 30, Sri Bagalamuki Homam will be performed and she will be adorned with poo pavadai (flowers).

On Oct 1, Sri Rajamathangi Homam will be performed and since it is the day of Saraswati Puja, she assumes the form of Goddess
Saraswati.

On Oct 2, Vijayadasami Day, Sri Bhuvaneswari Homam will be performed and she will be seated in the swing.
 Says a note from ashram manager P Santhanam, the 10-day homam begins with 'go' puja at 7 a.m. followed by Ganapati Homam, Navagraha Homam and Moola Mantra Homam at 9 a.m.
There will be special abhishekams to Goddess Bhuvaneswari on all these days at 10 a.m. followed by annadanam at 12.30 p.m.. The maha poornahudi will be at 7.30 p.m., followed by abhishekam to Sri Chakra Maha Meru at 8.15 p.m. followed by prasadam distribution.
Devotees are requested to loosen their purse strings and send in donations liberally for the series of celebrations.
