1,462-page handwritten Tamil Bible
A 1,462 page handwritten Tamil Bible was consecrated at the Palayamkotti cathedral, Tirunelveli, at a special ceremony on September 3.
The Indian Bible Society officials said, "The handwritten book is a perfect copy of the original work - word by word and page by page. We have not changed even the page number."
The 17.5-inch-long book is 12 inches broad, they added.
The writing of the Bible began on December 7, 2003, by different persons and their names also have been given.
The consecration of the Bible also marked the 300th birth anniversary of B Schichenbalch, the priest who translated Bible into Tamil first, Archbishop Jeyapaul said at Tirunelveli. (Agencies)
