Lakshmi-Kubera comes to Chennaionline
A grand pooja for Lakshmi-Kubera was performed on the premises of Chennaionline on August 9 evening.
The celestial wedding of Kubera and his consort Chitralekha was performed recently according to the Raja Lakshmi Kubera Trust and the Sri Lakshmi Kuberan Peetam, which run the temple in Rathnamangalam, Vandalur,
Chennai.
It is believed that Kubera and his consort visit the houses and offices of devotees in their bridal finery for one mandalam after that (48 days) and so can be invited by anyone till August 23 to perform
pooja.
The Chennaionline pooja was soul-satisfying, says our CEO L Ravichandran. "It turned out to be a fulfilling experience for me," he said.
The trustees had brought the utsava idols of Lakshmi, Kubera and Chitralekha along with nine items of prosperity and navadhanyams. The pooja itself was conducted with the help of rice, flowers and coins.
For many of the staff the best part came in the end, in the form of mouth-watering kesari, the
prasadam.
The Lakshmi-Kubera temple
is built on 4,000 sq ft of land and has a five-tier gopuram. Lakshmi-Kubera is the main deity in this temple though there are shrines for other deities.
As the God of wealth and material, his responsibilities are to distribute them while creating wealth is with Goddess Lakshmi. Kubera is mostly painted with his family and seen showering gold coins and
navaratnas.
Performing pooja to Lord Kubera is believed to enrich one's life. To have a wealthy and comfortable life, one has to perform Sri Lakshmi Kubera Pooja. There are separate mantras and rituals for the pooja. Poojas performed on Full Moon Day and half-moon days in November are supposed to bring good results.
The auspicious dates to worship Kubera is between October 15 and November 15 (Tamil month Aippasi). Thursday is the most auspicious day for Kubera as he was born on that day. Anyone who wants to achieve his/her goal should worship Kubera for 48 days by chanting the Kubera sloka 108 times a day.
