Anjaneyar Ammal Trust
The
Anjaneyar Ammal Trust,
66, AVM Avenue, IInd Street, Virugambakkam, Chennai - 600092, has sought
donations for the kumbabhishekam of the Varadaraja
Perumal temple on 227, Broadway, Chennai, which has been in existence for
more than 100 years.
The temple with Lord
Varadharajar as the main deity along with utsava Varadharajar and Sreedevi
and Bhoodevi nachiar and also along with moolavar Anjaneyar, uthasavar Anjaneyar,
Nadathur Ammal, Perunthevi
Thayar (Mahalakshmi)
and Andal, have been
worshipped for over a century by the people of Chennai are blessing the public
for their goodwill for more than 100 years.
Initially,
Lord Varadharajar main deity, and uthsava moorthy with Nachiars, Lord Anjaneyar
main moolavar along with Perunthevi Thayar (wife of Lord Varadharajar) and Andal
were the deities here. The Herculean efforts were undertaken initially by the
hereditary trustee at that time, Jeeyarpuram Vidwan Nadathur Ammal and
Krishnaswamy Iyengar (who worked hard for temple even while working as Tamil
pandit at Sarada High School, T.Nagar. The utsavar Anjaneyar, Varadharajar
Selvar and Nadathar Ammal, all in silver, were installed during 1960s.
Now, the temple has to be fully
demolished and renovated. The kumbabhishekam (Maha Samprokshanam) has to be
performed.
Hence,
the Anjaneyar Ammal Trust with Managing Trustee Nadathur Ammal Srivatsan has
come forward to raise funds for the construction temple vimanam and to perform
maha samprokshanam. The Trust has also decided to install Lord
Venkateswara (Balaji) and Alamelu Mangai Thayar along with Nadathur Ammal,
all moola statues.

The Trust has also planned to
perform 'Kodi Archana' -- 'One crore vishnu
sahasranamam' upto May 2005 before taking up the construction work.
The
Trust has appealed to devotees to contribute liberally in the form of money,
building materials like cement, steel, sand and electrical accessories besides
materials for 'Anna Dhanam' during Archana and Maha Samprokshanam period.
