Here comes India's first dog grooming mobile, run by N
Malaiappan.
As director of the dog grooming company, he says 'Puppy Dreams', which operates from a mobile van, will open a new world for Chennai dogs and indulgent owners of pets.
Malaiappan, the groomer who trained in an academy in Melbourne, Australia, said he and Usha Caesar decided to start one such venture in India. According to him, there is good response from the people and there is much scope for the project in Chennai as there are about 22,000 pet dogs.
There are three trained groomers and one mobile van. The grooming process will be done once a month for a dog and the charge will be a uniform Rs 650 for all kinds of dogs. The most interesting aspect is you stay at home with the dog while the van comes and does the grooming!
Puppy Dreams is not just a beauty parlour but has various facilities like hydro-bath, turbo drying, clipping, grooming, de-matting, ear cleaning and flea rinse.
 The mobile was declared open and road safety patrol kits were distributed on the occasion of Road Safety Week celebrations recently in Madras Boat Club, Chennai. R Nataraj, Chennai Commissioner of Police, inaugurated Puppy Dreams.
According to Malaiappan, the mobile van cost Rs 20 lakh and was fabricated by 'Puppy Dreams' as they are already in the camper van business..
Elaborating more about grooming dogs, he said they have fixed a target of 200 dogs per month. If the response picks up, they plan to set up dog grooming
parlours..
'Puppy Dreams' has received more than 50 enquiries till now. "We are also trained in grooming cats, but it will take time to decide whether cats can also added to our list," says
Malaiappan.
