Monopoly Championship to India which will be a lead up, for the National Winner,
to the World Monopoly Championship 2004 to be held in Tokyo, Japan. After
enjoying phenomenal success in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, the Funskool All
India Monopoly Championship 2004 is all set to be played on September 18, in
Chennai, with the finals among the winner ftom each city also scheduled on the
same day.

Funskool had invited 45 reputed
schools from Chennai and also made available the entry forms at 25 well-known
toy shops in the city. The last date to file the entry was September 6.
The Chennai leg of the Funskool
All India Monopoly Championship 2004 will be held at The Ispahani Centre,
Nungambakkam, from 0900 hrs to 1800 hrs.
The format of the championship
is simple. Each city will throw up one 'Winner' after the regular elimination
rounds and the four city winners - one each from Bangalore, Delhi,
Mumbai and
Chennai - will slug it out for the ultimate honour.
The National Winner of the
Funskool All India Monopoly Championship 2004 will travel on the
all-expense-paid-trip to Tokyo, Japan, to participate in the World Monopoly
Championship besides pocketing an attractive trophy and a cheque for Rs.25,000.
While each of the city winners gets a cheque for Rs. 5,000, the three runner-ups
in each city receive gifts worth Rs 2,000, 1,500 and 1,300 respectively.
The
World Monopoly Championship, which is held every four years, will be held at the
most expensive property of Tokyo - Rooppongi Hills section. There will be 40
contenders from as many countries to give their best trading shot and pocket the
world title. All the 40 representatives from the respective countries will
arrive in Tokyo on October 7 and will explore the surroundings of the
competition arena. All of them win undertake a city tour in the afternoon and
then attend a welcome reception to be thrown for all the players and guests in
the same evening. On October 8 the preliminary rounds of the W orId Monopoly
Championship wiU begin and last all throughout the day. And on October 9 wiU
emerge the World Monopoly Champion!
The World Monopoly Champion
will walk away with a cool cash prize of $15,140.
