RCGC Sports Quiz Sports

The Rotary Club of Chennai Galaxy conducted RCGC Sports Quiz on February 15, 2007, with tennis star Leander Paes participating as chief guest.

The club has adopted Dr Ambedkar Government Higher Secondary School of Egmore. This benefits children from the lower income group living in the neighbourhood of Egmore. The school is in urgent need of computer facilities to impart fundamental computer education to the students. The club proposes to set up a computer centre with state-of-the-art facility to provide curriculum training to the students as well as to train them in the latest technologies.

The school is yet to have a full-fledged library. The club proposes to set up a library in the school by purchasing the latest books on subjects of their study. These two projects envisaged by the club will provide lasting benefits to the poor students who are presently deprived of it.

The quiz conducted by the club received overwhelming response with over 100 teams participating in teams of two in the preliminary round. Top six teams were selected to go into the final round.
