Hutch launches new services
Hutch, a leading mobile service operator, announced in Chennai the launch of two value-added services for its customers.
One of the services - My Hutch - would enable the customers to access their account online, Samuel Selvakumar, director, Operations, Hutch, said in Chennai.
The service would enable the customers to pay their bills online, to change their tariff plans and subscribe to new services through the Internet.
Another service - Mobile Hutch Shop - would enable the customers to pay their bills at their doorstep and activate post-paid connections, among other facilities.
"The state-of-the-art vehicle for the shop has been designed by world renowned automobile designer Dilip Chhabria," he said.
The vehicle would have three customer service desks to provide speedier service to customers and would have online connectivity to the billing system. The company had recently crossed the three lakh mark of subscribers in Chennai, he said.
Launching the all new Mobile Hutch Shop, Samuel Selvakumar said, "In keeping with the growth of our customer base in the past year this trendy mobile Hutch Shop with more service desks and the VAS experience zone is the natural next step for us. This mobile Hutch Shop is the next step to reaching customers at their convenience across the city wherever they are."
The Mobile Hutch Shop has 3 customer service desks to ensure customers enjoy speedier service:
-
The mobile shop is a one-stop-solution for all customer needs complete with online connectivity to the billing systems through the nationwide GPRS service.
-
A value-added services 'Experience zone' where customers can view demo of services and subscribe to them.

The Web Self Service is aptly titled 'My Hutch'. Subscribers henceforth need not visit a Hutch shop or call customer care to change talk plans, pay bills, change billing address, set personal alerts and reminders, subscribe to new services and lots more. All this and more can now be achieved by accessing 'My Hutch' on the Internet.
Speaking on the launch of the customer initiative, Sankara Narayanan, COO, Hutch, Chennai, said, "Customers can now view and manage their Hutch account on line from anywhere across the world. This is a service that is extremely relevant to the mobile user on the move, the busy professional of today. Customers being able to access and manage their Hutch account any time, anywhere at their convenience is the objective of this initiative."
The service, launched across India in a phased manner, is currently available for subscribers in Chennai. On accessing the website, customers can click on Chennai and then click on 'My Hutch'. While 'My Hutch' gives subscribers greater mobility with access to the Internet, the mobile Hutch Shop will travel across the length and breadth of the city covering residential complexes and offices, connecting customers wherever they are through GPRS connectivity, Sankara Narayanan added.
