The 153rd Aradhana Mahotsavam of Saint Tyagaraja at the Sri Tyagaraja Sangeetha Vidwat Samajam, Mylapore, was inaugurated on Monday, the 24th of January by Sri. B.R. Kumar, Station Director, A.I.R. Chennai. Sangeetha Kalanidi Sri. T.K. Govinda Rao presided over the function. Mr. A. Natarajan, Retd. Station Director, D.D. Kendra, chennai, was the guest of honour. The inaugural meeting was followed by a vocal concert by vidwan Sri. T.K. Govinda Rao and Party.

On 25th of January, the aradhana day of Saint Tyagaraja, hundreds of musicians gathered in front of the shrine to pay their tributes to Saint Tyagaraja. The 'Unchavrithi' was followed by a 'goshti-ganam' (group-singing) of the pancharathna krithis by eminent musicians.
